Join us at 6:30 on January 28 for a brief membership meeting before the PA-PAC endorsement meeting.At the membership meeting we will be approving the 2016 budget and electing the 2016 board.Click to read and review the bios of PA's nominated slate of board members and executive officers for 2016.

At the conclusion of our brief membership meeting, the PA-PAC will begin it's endorsement meeting. Members will be voting on the endorsements for important upcoming elections, including US President, US Senate, Durham School Board, County Commissioners and more! Remember- in order for your voice (and vote!) to be heard at the PA-PAC meeting, you must renew your PA membership for 2016 by the time of the endorsement meeting.

School Voucher Is a Illusory Choice

Regarding North Carolina’s school voucher program, (“Moving forward with vouchers: What’s best for children”), The Herald-Sun, Aug. 18), here’s what we would like to hear our legislators say:

Vouchers are simply one more gear on the bulldozer the majority in the General Assembly is using to drive public education and the children in them over a cliff. Now that the majority has made teaching a lousy career option for the best and brightest, swept books and technology in the trash can, blown up class sizes, locked our youngest out of pre-school and sent teacher assistants packing, they pretend to care about “what’s best for students” by offering vouchers to attend private schools.
