What does the history of school segregation in Durham teach us about how institutional racism is perpetuated in our schools today? How do I choose a school for my child in an increasingly segregated Durham? Does applying a race equity lens to school choice mean that we should encourage white families to attend their neighborhood (zoned) Durham Public School, while preserving school choice for families of color?
