Economic Inequality October 2019 Meeting

Just a reminder that the next meeting of our team will be next Tuesday, October 22 at a new location.  We'll be meeting in a conference room of the 1898 Provident co-working space.  It's located in the basement at 411 W. Chapel Hill St. (this is the old NC Mutual building).  We'll meet in the lobby at 7pm at walk down to the meeting space.
As we talked about at our last meeting, our main item of discussion will be a review of the city's new draft Built2Last economic development plan.  You can view the entire plan here -- https://durhamnc.gov/DocumentCenter/View/27855/Built2Last_06142019_Final. Please be prepared to share your feedback on the plan at our meeting.

Also, just a couple other updates and resources regarding our work:

- Our team's most recent blog has just been posted  - read it here and share it via social media -- Inside/Outside Strategy Leads to Living Wages for All City Workers
Other items on the agenda:
- Durham Tech president's resignation and next steps to provide input to the Board of County Commissioners
- Update on our written feedback to the Board of County Commissioners on their draft revised economic development incentives policy
- Discussion about our team's next blog
One last thing, PA member Julie Edmonds shared with me the presentations from a recent summit hosted by Results for America's on what works to advance economic mobility.  You may be interested in checking out some of the presentations here -- RFA Summit - Results for America
