Background:

Congressman David Price spoke today before the House's Committee on Appropriations on Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He questioned the detention of the NC 6 and expressed a need to change the deportation priorities arbitrarily set forth by DHS Secretary Johnson. Congressman Price is speaking out on the case of Wildin and the other youth detained.

But, Congressman Butterfield has yet to publicly call on Secretary Johnson to release Wildin and the others. We need his leadership now more than ever or Wildin will be deported to likely death THIS SUNDAY.

We’re asking you to do the following:

Sample script: "Hello, my name is _______. I have called your office numerous times now. I urge the member to intervene for Wildin David Guillen Acosta who has been set for deportation this Sunday. Congressman Price spoke up for Wildin and the other youths detained today before the house committee on appropriations. He is taking leadership. I urge Congressman Butterfield to do the same by making a personal call to DHS Secretary Johnson to release Wildin immediately."

2.  Meet members of Alerta Migratoria NC and other supporters at Congressman Butterfield's Durham office at 3:30 pm tomorrow, Friday the 18th. We will have signs to hand out to folks. Signs will say #DeportMeInstead #FreeWildin #FreeNC6 #EducationNotDeportation #FreedomNotDeath
