People's Alliance and Durham 4 All are excited to co-host our third Activist Academy - Tools to Win Power for a More Progressive Durham on Saturday, June 10th from 10am-4pm in downtown Durham. Space is limited - apply online here!

Who the training is for: This year, our Activist Academy training is geared toward candidates running for local office in Durham for the first time, their campaign teams and leaders of issue-oriented organizing (such as affordable housing).

What you will learn in this training: The Durham Activist Academy will prepare progressives running for local office, their campaign teams and leaders of issue-oriented campaigns to achieve victories for candidates and policies that advance a Durham where all people can live well. The training will prepare folks to more deeply understand Durham's political history and current landscape and execute successful campaign strategies. Topics covered in the training will include: Durham's political history; power-mapping current organizations and players; grassroot organizing; volunteer management; media and 'telling your story'; and campaign management & finances.

Logistics: Lunch will be provided. Childcare for children over the age of 3 can be provided, if needed. We are requesting a financial contribution from all participants to help cover the costs of lunch, materials and childcare. Attendees are asked to contribute what you can - suggested contribution is $20.

Space is limited - apply online and someone from our team will be in touch with details.
