Tommie leads UNC’s Institute for the Arts and Humanities in empowering faculty to have the greatest impact for the future. He joined PA days after moving to Durham and shortly thereafter the board. He is a passionate advocate for equity and inclusion.

Tommie lives with his better half, Amber and Sylvia (their cat), and at times foster children. He holds a BA from Wheaton College (MA) and in his spare time, he enjoys culinary adventures, photography, reading non-fiction and watching shows.
