Sara is a long time PA member, and has served as President several times in the past, most recently in 2013, but previously in the late 1990's. 

After graduating from the University of Kansas with a degree in Systematics and Ecology, she headed off to Zaire (now Democratic Republic of Congo) where she served first as a fisheries volunteer, then as a regional volunteer leader.  She then returned to the U.S. and began her career in the air quality office of the US Environmental Protection Agency, where she is currently employed. 

Sara and her partner have three children thriving in Durham Public Schools, and also stuffing envelopes or assisting with childcare from time to time for PA.
