Connect, Learn, Act

Community Conversations are small groups that gather throughout the year to build community and foster open, creative conversations about how to advance policies and practices that build a more equitable and anti-racist Durham. Through conversation, folks from across Durham will identify proactive actions and reactive responses needed to dismantle systems of racism and oppression and promote a more just and equitable Durham where all people can live well.

Are you interested in participating in the SpiritHouse Harm Free Zone book study of Incarceration Nations?
PA is supporting this effort and 3 of our community conversations will begin by reading this book with the Harm Free Zone.

Goals:

  • Foster community for people to connect and find solidarity with other progressives committed to anti-racist action in Durham

  • Facilitate conversations around how we can respond to local, state, and national policies, decisions and other actions that affect our community and positive actions we can take to break down systems of racism and oppression

  • Grow and activate PA’s grassroots network by providing a space for voices across Durham to inform PA’s priorities and actions

Please email Magan ([email protected]) if you have questions about these conversations.
