People's Alliance celebrated our 40th Anniversary with a Taste of Durham Living Wage Party!

It all began in 1976 when a group of activists formed PA to fight for a more socially and economically inclusive state. Those founders probably never guessed that four decades later PA would be 800 members strong and would have such a significant legacy of shaping progressive policy and action for Durham.

In October 2016, hundreds of PA members came to celebrate 40 years of progressive action in Durham. We honored some of Durham's progressive heroes, connected with new and old friends and enjoyed eats, sweets and drinks from some of Durham's Living Wage certified businesses.
