Durham PA-PAC
A PAC, is a “Political Action Committee.” It’s a technical way of saying a “special interest” group, usually organized around a specific goal or ideology.
Tobacco lobbyists have a PAC. Chemical polluters have a PAC. Mega real estate developers have a PAC.
And, through the People’s Alliance, the citizens of Durham have a PAC. The People’s PAC. But our PAC is different from theirs. We don’t fight for a narrow special interest, we put our time (and money) towards a broad progressive vision for our city.
While the People’s Alliance can be described loosely as a “political” organization, it functions more generally as a public interest group.
The PA-PAC is separate, but related, and deals with the nitty gritty of electoral politics. By endorsing the candidates we believe in, and then working to get them elected, at the local, state, and even national level, we get progressives into office.

From Barack Obama, all the way down to People’s Alliance members elected to City Council and County Commissioners, votes can be our voice.
The People’s PAC operates on separate donations from the People’s Alliance. Your donations can help us in 2011, 2012, and beyond.
